Abass Fall is a Senegalese politician who was elected Mayor of Dakar on 25 August 2025 by the city-council vote.
At the time of his election as mayor, he was serving as the Minister of Labour, Employment and Institutional Relations under the national government.
Fall has a Master’s degree in Human Resources Management.
Dakar is the capital and largest city of Senegal, situated on the Cap-Vert peninsula, the westernmost point of mainland Africa.
Serving as one of the main seaports on the western African coast, Dakar became the capital of the independent Republic of Senegal in 1960.
Dakar has a history affected largely by colonialism, but today it is a city with Muslim accounting for the majority of its population.
