The tenth issue of the Asian Mayors Forum Activity Report highlights AMF’s key activities and international engagements from April to June 2025. During this period, AMF hosted the 3rd Meeting of the BRICS+ Association of Cities and Municipalities in Tehran, bringing together urban and government officials from several BRICS+ countries. The meeting included discussions on inter-city cooperation, urban resilience, and crisis management, while also witnessing the signing of a memorandum of understanding between Tehran and Kazan.
The report also highlights AMF’s active participation in the first General Assembly of the BRICS+ Association of Cities and Municipalities in Maricá, Brazil, including sessions on sustainability and ESG, youth, architecture and urban development, and women’s participation. In addition, AMF expanded its international partnerships through cooperation with organizations and cities in Russia, Senegal, Tajikistan, India, and other countries, while promoting urban diplomacy, resilience, culture, tourism, and sustainable urban development.
This issue also features new city-to-city partnerships, including twinning agreements between Isfahan and Kazan and between Qazvin and the Gorodetsky District, as well as the designation of Arak as the Secretariat of AMF’s Public Participation and Social Responsibility Committee. The report further covers the presentation of the 2025 Asian Capitals awards to Kermanshah, Tabriz, Antalya, and Isfahan, alongside continued cooperation with Dushanbe, youth diplomacy initiatives, and City Studies sessions for AMF interns.
