ISOCARP (International Society of City and Regional Planners) is a global, non-governmental professional organization founded in 1965. It brings together urban and regional planners, academics, researchers, and institutions from more than 90 countries to promote excellence in planning, foster knowledge exchange, support research and education, and advance sustainable urban and regional development.
ISOCARP’s key activities include organizing the World Planning Congress, implementing professional initiatives such as the Young Planning Professionals (YPP) and Urban Planning Advisory Teams (UPAT) programs, publishing research and policy resources, and collaborating with international organizations, including the United Nations, to address global urban challenges such as sustainable development, resilience, climate change, and inclusive urban planning.
