Rahim Shoghi holds a PhD in Geography. Rasht is the capital of Gilan Province in northern Iran and the most populous city in northern Iran.
Rasht has a semi-Mediterranean climate characterized by hot, humid summers and cold, wet winters. Rasht is also known as the city of rain due to its high rainfall.
Rasht is the only city in Iran to be registered with UNESCO in the field of gastronomy in 2015 and is on the list of Creative Cities of Gastronomy.
In addition to being the historical, cultural, and artistic center of Gilan, Rasht has a dynamic economy based on agriculture, trade, and industries.
