Uğur İbrahim Altay (born 1974) is an architecture engineer and Turkish politician and the current mayor of Konya Metropolitan Municipality. He had previously served as the Mayor of Selçuklu. He is also the term president of the World Union of Municipalities.

Konya is a major city in the central Turkey and capital of Konya Province.

The Konya region has been inhabited since the third millennium BC and therefore enjoys a long-lasting history.

The city is famous for housing the turquoise-domed tomb of Rumi, attracting millions of tourists annually.

With an agriculture-oriented economy, the city now benefits from thriving industries including automotive.
