Some of the several historical and scenic points of the cities are: Lake Hoan Kiem, the Central Sector of the Imperial Citadel of Thang Long, built in the 11th century which was designated in 2010 as a UNESCO World Heritage site. The University of Hanoi, the Revolutionary Museum, the Army Museum, and the National Museum are important cultural institutions.
