Mr. Yong Hong first introduced the remarkable development of China and said that the construction of Guangdong-Zhuhai and Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Areas play an important strategic role in national development. By visiting Kazan, Russia, Mr. Guo Yonghang sought to strengthen and educate the relationship between the two cities in the fields of sports, science, education and youth development. They also traveled to Canada, the United States of America and Fiji from October 19 to 29, 2023 in the delegation. This trip was carried out with the theme of "friendship trip, green initiatives and cooperation trip" with the aim of strengthening economic and cultural relations. During their Canadian trip, they participated in comprehensive talks with the Guangzhou-Vancouver Friendship Association. In the United States, they signed a memorandum of understanding between the Guangzhou Port Authority and the Port of Los Angeles. Mr. Guo was the vice governor of Guangdong when he was elected as interim mayor of Guangzhou in 2021. He also holds senior civil and provincial posts in the Chinese Communist Party.

Guangzhou is the most populated urban area in the world. The 16th Asian Games were held in this Chinese city from November 12 to November 27, 2010. This is the second time that a Chinese city will host the Asian Games.
