The candidacy process of our local leaders for their election to the 2026–2029 term AMF governing bodies has officially begun. The elections are scheduled to take place during the AMF General Assembly 2025, to be held in Tehran on November 2025. We call on all Asian mayors to step forward and take part at shaping the sustainable future for this ancient continent.
The nominations are invited for the following positions:
1. Co-Presidency
2. Membership of Executive Board
3. Treasurer
4. Presidency and Secretaryship of Technical Committees:
– Culture and Urban Tourism
– Environment and Urban Health
– Livability and Urban Resilience
– Public Participation and Social Responsibility
– Smart and Innovative Cities
– Urban Economy and Entrepreneurship
For further information on these governing bodies and their duties, please refer to the AMF Charter. Please note that the process requires the candidate cities to upload a formal nomination letter signed by the Mayor or top authority of the city.
Deadline for submitting the nomination is set for 22 September, 2025.
