AMF holds simulation on Iran, Afghanistan water dispute

AMF has hosted the 2nd session of its simulations, this time on Iran’s water share from Afghanistan’s Hirmand River.

The negotiation session was held with two teams from Iranian and Afghan students, both consisting of legal, diplomatic, environmental and economic representatives. The teams discussed the major challenges and the possible solutions for the controversial issue between the two countries.

The negotiation and problem-solving process were evaluated by a jury of prominent figures, including environmental activist Mohammad Darvish, senior lecturer and researcher in water diplomacy Hojjat Mianabadi and senior lecturer in international relations Mahdi Ahouie.

The session ended with both parties being evaluated as equal.
