Delegates from the cities of Shiraz and Isfahan took part in a thematic session on Architecture and Urban Development, held during the first General Assembly of the BRICS+ Association of Cities and Municipalities.
Mayor of Isfahan Mr. Ali Ghasemzadeh and Deputy Mayor of Shiraz Mr. Arash Farajzadeh, shared insights from their cities on challenges and opportunities in sustainable urban development. The session focused on key issues such as integrating green technologies into architectural projects, improving the quality of public spaces, and preserving cultural and historical sites. The importance of community engagement in urban development processes and the evolving role of architects in creating inclusive urban environments were also among the topics addressed.
The General Assembly took place from May 26 to 28, 2025, in Maricá, Brazil, bringing together municipal leaders and experts from across the BRICS+ network.
