A number of official sources within the Khatlon regional administration told Asia-Plus that Sijouddin Salomzoda, who had previously served as Deputy Mayor of Dushanbe, has been appointed the chairperson of Danghara district, Khatlon province. Sijouddin Salomzoda had served as Deputy Mayor of Dushanbe since January 2023 and he had bene in charge of issues related to trade and economic development (trade, services including market prices). Prior to this, Sijouddin Salomzoda had served as Mayor of Bokhtar since 2020. From 2018 to 2020, he served as Mayor of Isfara in Sughd Province (from 2018 to 2020). From 2015 to 2018, Sijouddin Salomzoda served as Mayor of Tursunzoda (city subordinate to the center). From 2013 to 2015, Salomzoda headed the Service on Supervision of Safety in Industry and Mining. From 2011 to 2013, he served as Secretary of the Supervisory Board, etc. Tajikistan founded OJSC NBO Roghun. Sijouddin Salomzoda, 59, graduated from Tashkent State Technical Institute named after Abu Raihan al-Beruni with a degree in geophysics.

Tursunzoda (TajikТурсунзода; also Tursunzade from RussianТурсунзаде) is a city in western Tajikistan, known for its aluminum smelting plant TadAZ. It is located 60 km west of Dushanbe (40 km west of Hisor), near the border with Uzbekistan. It is near several rivers, Shirkent and Karatag immediately to the west and east of the city, and Kofarnihon further east. Its population is estimated at 55,700 for the city proper and 298,800 for the city with the outlying communities (2020).[1] Its population was given as 40,600 in the 1989 census, falling to 39,000 in 2000, and estimated at 37,000 in 2006.
