Bangkok is the capital, chief port and most populous city of Thailand, located on the delta of Chao Phraya River in central part of the South Asian country.

With a history dating back to the 15th century, Bangkok  became the capital of Siam (as Thailand was previously known) in 1782 and since then has grown rapidly as a metropolis.

Bangkok serves as the economic center of Thailand, and the heart of the country’s investment and development, with wholesale and retail trade accounting for the major part of the city’s economy.

It is also a major tourist destination, noted for cultural attractions, elegant temples and a vibrant nightlife.
