Aleppo

Aleppo is a city in northern Syria, which serves as the capital of the Aleppo Governorate, the most populous governorate of Syria.

Lying at the crossroads of great commercial routes, the city has long been inhabited (since the sixth millennium BC) with its historic structures designated a UNESCO World Heritage site.

Aleppo has long been a trade center due to its position and before war played a crucial role in country’s economy housing numerous manufacturing industries.

It was also s center of traditional Arab poetry, music, cuisine, and handicrafts.

The city was largely affected by war, suffering massive destruction.
