AMF delegate addresses BRICS+ Women meeting

AMF Deputy Secretary General has participated as a keynote speaker in the “BRICS+ Women” session held on the sidelines of the first General Assembly of the BRICS+ Association of Cities and Municipalities in Maricá, Brazil.

In her remarks, Ms. Khatami emphasized the crucial role of women in shaping inclusive local and global governance and highlighted the need for stronger networks among women urban leaders within the BRICS+ countries. She also shared successful examples of women’s empowerment in urban management, economic participation, and leadership training initiatives aimed at strengthening women’s roles in city development.

The session, held on May 27, 2025, served as a platform to explore the challenges and opportunities facing women across politics, economy, and social development within the BRICS+ context.
