Chitkara University has established a "Smart City Sustainable Research Laboratory" with the support of the National Science and Technology Council and the National Chung Cheng University of Taiwan Hindustan Times.
In order to develop "international competence" in artificial intelligence techniques as well as on-site deployment, the lab was created as part of a four-year project.The project coordinators have decided to deploy at least one application in Chandigarh, which is the first city in India to be targeted.
Research lab's main goal is to establish a connection with Chandigarh city administration to implement sustainable smart city applications, including environment pollution detection and smart traffic management systems.
In a global partnership, all developed and developing countries should work toward the 17 sustainable development goals (SDGs), which form the core of the UN’s blueprint for peace and prosperity for people and the planet.
