Asian Urban Tourism

Urban tourism has a relatively comprehensive concept and term that encompasses a wide range of tourism programs and activities. Urban tourism emphasizes a particular type of tourism in which tourist destinations, including natural, historical, civilizational, cultural, economic, social, and technological, and other forms of attractions, are located within cities or urban communities. Urban tourism, in addition to the good economic benefits that can be achieved for cities and the prosperity of businesses and economic prosperity of cities, promotes the brand and position of the city in the competitive environment among cities and strengthens cultural and social cohesion, creates security and also expands mutual cultural, peace, tolerance and global coexistence understanding and friendship among nations. Based on this, the Urban Tourism Committee has been formed under the responsibility of Abbasabad Cultural Renovation and Recreation Company in Tehran.

Introduction

UN Habitat predicts that by 2030, five billion people - or about two-thirds of the world's population - will live in cities. By 2050, 70% of the world's population will be urban. This continuous increase in urbanization will gradually reflect the significant impact of city tourism on the development of the city and its economy. In fact, tourism is creating new patterns and changes in the urban landscape, including globalization, a phenomenon whose impact is not limited to large cities. Recognizing the importance of tourism in the city, the AMF Committee on Urban Tourism seeks to implement tools to assist cities in the development of sustainable tourism. A goal that is primarily transmitted through the AMF Urban Tourism Network. The City Tourism Network proposes to act as a platform for knowledge transfer, development and implementation of initiatives and innovative examples, as well as a benchmark in the implementation of urban projects.

Its main purpose is to form transferable and adaptable methods and models for the development of the city. Participants in the AMF City Tourism Network benefit from membership in a working group of stakeholders from the public and private sectors, at the regional and national levels, to pursue policies to accelerate the city's tourism. The network also aims to maintain a positive living environment for local people, to develop cities for tourism and through the tourism sector.
